1. Our commitment
LOJ Legal Services is committed to providing its services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, and to giving everyone the same opportunity to get legal help from us. We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
2. Accessible formats and communication supports
If you need information from us in another format, or need a communication support to work with us, please tell us. That could mean a document in large print or another electronic format, more time in a consultation, or communicating by email rather than phone, or the other way round. We will work with you to find something suitable, as quickly as we can and at no extra cost.
3. Appointments and our office
You can meet with us by phone, by video, or in person at our office in London, Ontario. If you need anything to make an appointment work for you, let us know when you book or call, and we will make arrangements.
You are welcome to bring a support person, and to use your own assistive devices. Guide dogs and other service animals are welcome in our office. If a support person will be present for a confidential discussion, we will talk with you first about how that affects confidentiality.
If something that people with disabilities rely on to reach us is temporarily unavailable, such as access to the office or our phone line, we will post a notice on this website and at the office, explaining what is affected, how long we expect it to last, and other ways to reach us.
4. This website
We designed this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In particular:
- every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and starts with a link to skip straight to the main content
- pages use a clear heading structure, and images have text descriptions
- text and background colours have enough contrast to meet the standard
- the moving background on the home page does not play if your device is set to reduce motion
- the website works when zoomed in and on small screens
Two features come from other companies and are outside our full control: the online booking calendar (Cal.com) and the office map (Google Maps). If either is difficult to use, you can book by phone on 1-877-295-9675 or by email at [email protected], and our address is written out in full on the Contact page.
5. Feedback
We welcome feedback on how we provide our services to people with disabilities, including this website. You can give it:
- by phone on 1-877-295-9675
- by email at [email protected]
- by mail or in person at 4500 Blakie Rd, Unit 110, London, ON N6L 1G5, Canada
- through the enquiry form
Feedback is handled by Ehize Odukoya. We aim to respond within five business days, in the format you prefer. If your feedback is a complaint, we will tell you what we will do about it and when. If you need this information, or anything about our feedback process, in another format, just ask.
